I use a Dell computer with W98.
It has 192 Mb Ram, and 8Gb hard drive split into four of 2GB each.
The predominant section is C.
I clean up and defrag etc very regularly.
I created more space on the C drive by moving stuff to other drives and
yet I am regularly running out of memory. The mystery is what is
filling the memory as I am not installing fresh programmes or
downloading to the C drive.
I use a programme called JASC Paint Shop Pro 7 a lot which means
creating and manipulating images etc.
Any memory hungry graphics are kept on other drives.
The question is really in two parts;
what may be hogging memory that is not obvious?
Why if I have installed the above programme on another section does it
hog memory on the C section and how can I change it? Overall I have
lots of memory available but it appears to be in the wrong place.
I would be grateful for any help.
