If they send you an alert email informing you of this like Norton does, then that is good, you won't miss out on any of the latest updates.
I fully agree! And, yes, it's hog all right. Unfortunately, most PC users aren't as informed as some and don't use common sense. Norton has updates almost daily, sometimes more than once per day. There are dozens of new vir*ses out every week, and if you don't have the latest up to the minute updates, you'll get infected.
