       No dual boot. Would it help if I delete the Win98 from the E: drive?
I've never attempted to run Win98 since getting WinXP. I was afraid it might
cause a registry conflict. I'm surprised WinXP even reads the E: drive as I
thougth WinXP used a different file system.

    I downloaded it in early October so I assume that is the latest one.

         It was only 60 F. here in sunny Arizona today, which is better than
the 55 F. we had Wednesday. Normal is 68 F. Are you near Detroit?
