Ethernet does have to do with networks. Also DSL because of the way it works. It needs a PPPoE client program to connect to the Internet via the DSL modem. The DSL modem needs an Ethernet card and cable to connect to your PC. (Or you could use an USB connection). PPPoE is Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet. PPPoE is a specification for connecting the users on an Ethernet to the Internet through a common broadband medium, such as a single DSL line, wireless device or cable modem.
