In order to cure my problems with Error 404, I had to reinstall WinME. I then went to Windows Update to see what items I needed to download (again!) . Some 7 MB of updates needed downloading and installation, including the update for WinME Help. Since that time, System Restore does not work. Trying to make a Restore point before loading a new program I get Bill's message "System Restore is not able to create a restore point. Please restart your computer and run System Restore again."
I have done this; scanned and defragged and the problem is still there. Is there anything else I can do? TIA for any advice. Happy New Year to one and all.
