HTH>> Larry...that's what we've all been telling Jeff...to format it as text BEFORE he puts the data in there, but he is insisting this doesn't work on his install of Excel....which is something I have never seen or heard before. That's why I suggested he post this to one of the Excel groups. Maybe someone in there HAS seen this behavior. Linda OK Linda I use Excel a lot and mine works that way. I found out how to solve his other problem with the 25E5 and that is to use an apostrophe at the beginning and it will work ok also.
