Thomas you must have some additional software installed, you
cannot do that with *FOLDERS* on win98 without additional
software. If you know what software you installed, please
let us know. I found the program I mentioned in another
post, http://www.easyapps.com/ I do NOT know if it's still
free or not. Here's another interesting page.

Also FYI, "IrfanView" can create icons, or convert any jpg or
gif into a .ico (icon) file. You'll have to reduce of course
to 32x32 or 16x16 if you want it to be a *typical* sized
icon.

Cindy;
Like Clint said, just right mouse click on the folder on your
desktop,
and then click on the "Change Icon" button. It will bring up
a "Change
Icon" window, where you will see additional icons Windows
supplies.
Just click the "Browse" button and locate the folder you
saved your
icons in and then highlight the desired icon, then click
apply to change
the icon on your desktop.

Also, for those interested, you can also personalize your
link icons in
IE. Just right click on the link and follow the same steps.
I often
save a logo from a web site as an *.ico file and then use
that for the
link icon. It helps me identify the link a lot faster when
looking for
them.

Clint;
Just FYI, the steps in Win2k are the same as Win9x/Me.
