As always, you are a very large wealth of information that I wish
personally I had as much knowledge of. Even after 30 years in the
electronics and computer fields, I still end up learning as much as I do
from your postings, either directly to me or to others on the list.
Hi Ralph (and other PC workers)

I've been down for over a week so I'm now trying to catch up.

Thanks for the compliments, I appreciate them. I happen to have started with
IBM mainframes in 1964 and have been involved in one form or another since
that time. I taught classes at work and also at a community college for 21
years in all manner of computing and programming and e-mail. I also ran a
mailing list for 5 years and still maintain a FAQ and web site dedicated to
e-mail only things.

I also happen to be an inveterate purchaser of books (computer and
otherwise), software and peripherals.

Your info with regarding the hard drive info was of great info for me.
Some you wrote I already knew, such as the possibly of 4 primary
partitions, 1 of which could be the extended. BUT I did not know of the
limits, as you said, of the amount of partitions.

Since you did not give any info about the Promise extender card, I am
assuming you have not worked with any yourself - am I correct on this???
Correct. Usually when I don't answer it is because I don't know a thing
about the subject, or somebody else provided a better answer.

With regard to E-Bay, since I have never dealt with them before,
hopefully you can tell me how to setup things on them, and then work
with others that deal with E-Bay. Not sure if that info would be ok on
list or if better for you to write to me personally off-list.
eBay is about fool-proof, although I did list an automobile for sale twice (:<).

If you go to their web site the signup procedures are really simple. The
best thing to do first is to find the proper category for what you have to
sell (also read the selling tips). An easy way to do this is to do a search
on the same item you wish to sell and then see what categories are listed. I
did this first for everything I wanted to sell. Pictures are also a must --
I used my web site to show digital pictures.
