Liz, A good cure is to look for a freeware program called Enditall.zip on Google. If you unzip and install this program and run it before doing Scandisk/Defrag, your problem should go away. BTW, unless you are then closing down, you should restart your computer again, after the Scan/Defrag is complete, to reinstall all the AV and other programs which have been shut down. Good luck
