Hi Meir, Sorry to hear about your experience with MailWasher. I have been using the program since it came out a while back (when it was free ) and got the MailWasher Pro as a freebie because I registered it when I first got it in beta form. I think it a terrific program. However, one must take time to learn how to use it, configure it and train it in what you want done.
You can set it to filter, delete and bounce or just filter and delete on command or just filter. I never bounce email - waste of time and bandwidth IMHO. At any rate, you are the one who decides what the program needs to do. I am sure if you take time to work with the program you will find it a great help. Another program I use is called, "K9." It is still a freebie, I believe and it too is very effective. But, as with all spam filters, you must take the time to work with it, train it in what you want done, etc. That usually takes a week or two. K9 is a bit more sophisticated in that it sits between your ISP and your email client, so it analyzes the email before your email client ever sees it and then passes it along to your email client with the spam marked for filtering if that is appropriate. From there you can set your email client filter to shunt it aside for further perusal. Finally, no matter what, I find it necessary to review all filtered mail anyway, but for programs save me a bunch to time. I wouldn't be without either program.
