I'm not sure if restoring before the infection would do the job, but it would
be worth a try before getting rid of everything.  Of course, the only way you
can get rid of it in the backup history section would be to eliminate the bad
ones.  I don't know that you can selectively remove those and even if you do
restore to before the infection, the later backups would still exist.  Yes, you
do loose all the restores and all the updates when you go back. If you don't go
back, but just eliminate the store of backups, you won't loose the updates,
just the ability to restore to before them.  If the machine is running ok and
you have only had it since July, you would probably be better to just eliminate
the store of backups by turning off the restore, running the AVG then rebooting
and turning on the restore and creating a current restore point.
