Kieth, This is a thank you note from down under. I mulled over for ages as
to what to do with my leftover virus message from AVG but took your advice
and iradicated all my restore dates and with great trepidation turned on the
machine and left it to sit expecting that sneaky message to return as it
used to when left for half an hour or so but it seems to have gone. I then
ran AVG and reset a restore date after turning on restore again. I do
believe I am back to a clean machine for a while anyway. I did not want to
risk losing patches by restoring to a date I thought might be clean. I have
bought a book (secondhand) entitled Microsoft windows XP Unleashed by Terry
W.Ogletree published by Sams USA. Nothing however beats direct instruction
and advice. Couldn't find anything in the book to say that one could
selectively delete restore dates. Many thanks anyway. Sylvia
