I needed to do something. Quick Books is really slow opening up, as well as Acrobat 
reader, though not as
bad.
I did the defrag with no help.
Anyway, I had one of the Network services set for manual, changed it to automatic and 
seems to be
working.,

I have the services he recommends disabled on my systems, they are
reflected in other lists around the web, and I have not had any
difficulties so far <knock on wood!>. Some I have re-enabled for specific
uses I require.

beyond services and all is well explained and friendly.

Al services use up memory but as most systems nowadays have 256 mb or more
installed you don't notice these much unless you have 128 mb or less
installed and you have onboard video too.
