Hee hee. Now you're using all caps! LOL!! But **I know** you mean to place emphasis on it. (I guess one could also use ** like that).
I have YET to use a backup program. I and others have ask here many times for the best ones, or ones to avoid and no one seems to know. I have Drive Image Pro, but never used it. I went to try it out and kept getting a warning about the partitions being bad or something like that. I'm glad I said "no" to fixing it since I later found out from them and someone at this list to NEVER say yes to that for it will erase your HD! That pretty much turned me off on Drive Image. Yep, the 3 basic rules of computing are backup, backup, and backup. So did you use the NTI backup? Did you download an eval or what? I think I have that here that came bundled with some CDRW drives, but I don't know if it's some limited version or a timed version. I like a "mirrored" type of software that can "image" your HD and FULLY RESTORE the ENTIRE thing in one click in event of a failure of some kind. -Clint Happy New Year to all & God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://OrpheusComputing.com ) ----- Original Message ----- From: "rb47" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Clint, Well, may prove moot in a lot of ways - turns out due to some factor in a very recent install of a program is what I think caused the problem to happen originally. And Since Norton stopped working entirely after the install, including after a complete uninstall and reinstall (click on icon and nothing happens at all), looks like have to do a complete new install of Win98SE from scratch again. This has got me realizing, no matter what I do, HAVE TO GET THE BACKUP SOFTWARE ON AND DO CRITICAL BACKUPS RIGHT FROM DAY ONE THAT I KEEP IN THE REFERENCE BINDER FOR EVER AND EVER AND EVER!!!! After talking to NTI, Seems that I can fully and competely recommend their Backup Now! Deluxe for every version of Windows - you can do disaster backups with the DriveImage Backup in every version of Windows, from 95 through XP, and use Backup Now! for Incremental/Differencial Backups likewise from 95 through XP. Can not say the same for other backup software have dealt with before, include Backup My PC by Stomp, software originally by Veritas, now maintained by Sonic. Seems that for it can not do a disaster backup for NT4, 2K, or XP, and will not support dual boot systems, unlike most of the Image Backup software packages I have seen.
