Clint,

That is the one thing about the whole utilities problem I have found -
that one more than anything else needs the latest versions, like it or
not.

The compatability mode is the one that hopefully will solve running many
of my older 98 programs - some just can not run in this mode, due to the
real mode requirements of them, so just have to go back to booting in 98
it would seem.

One of the BIGGEST issues I have found is still the 512 Meg RAM barrier
- but I THINK that the easiest way of solving it is to do the complete
98 install, with 512 Megs of RAM, then after done, install more RAM, go
into msconfig, click on advanced, and tell 98 to just use 512 Megs of
RAM. That way it is satisfied of its requirement of 512 Megs max, while
still giving you more RAM for XP.

Any you are ABSOLUTELY correct - XP does most definitely give you far
superior features, AFTER you can get it tweaked and fixed. I have found
that I have had to get just TOO many XP books for my liking to find more
and more of the tweaks and fixes - BAH AND HUMBUG!!!!!
