Hi Liz and all, Good suggestions so far. First, upgrading to XP is unlikely to fix a problem that exists before the upgrade. (Formatting and loading it fresh will fix all the old problems, but be sure to save your recipes, etc. first!). The best place to buy a new, legal copy of XP is from vendors competing over the internet at a place like pricewatch.com. Make sure the deal includes the CD (media) and Product key (COA). Second, you might have corrupted recipe or cookbook files. The support people from mastercook.com have forums so you can write in about your problem. The moderators may be able to fix the corrupted files for you via email by attachments. Third, your system resources are not dangerously low. I have seen that problem resolved by removing spyware. And this is less likely, but check for vir*ses while you're at it.
