Here is how you take care of that one

1. Open Outlook Express

2. Click on "Tools" and then "Options".

3. Click the Security tab

4. Under Virus Protection, click to remove the check from the box
labeled "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could
potentially be a virus".

5. Click OK

To one and all,

I am finding a problem I did not expect and is one I dont know the way
to change.

I have been setting up a friend's computer, and installing WinXP on it.
Since she got to dislike Netscape 7.1 on Win98, I sugguested she use OE
with the new XP install. Things went well with the setup of her OE mail
account, and importing her old emails.

UNFORTUNATELY, I am now discovering a problem I was NOT expecting -
after I went to look at some of her emails, both new mail as well as
those inported into OE from Netscape, several emails that have
attachments, when you click on the paper clip, OE tells you it blocked
access to the potentially dangerous attachment. One of the newest emails
is from an elder in her church with a DOC file with important info for
her to look at. BUT it has been blocked by OE. This one and a number of
other emails with attachments are the same issue. NONE of these emails
has problem attachments and each is info she needs to have access to.

I went into settings and can not find anywhere to change OE to let
attachments be openable - how do I do so????

HELP!!!!
