       Mostly, I'm only having this trouble with the C drive, the slave HD (D 
drive) goes through defrag with no problems at all.
       Yes, it is the Windows version.

       In the first place, I'm not quite sure AVG is working.  It runs 
nicely, but hasn't caught a virus in over a year, meanwhile when I first tried the 
McAfee a few months ago it caught one, and again a few weeks later.  Secondly, 
nearly everybody here tells me that I should run dozens of different AV's 
because just one won't catch everything.  They each have their own realms.  
Thirdly, I've never had any conflicts between the two before.
       Well, I'm off to run McAfee and hope it doesn't take 56 hours again.
