When I had dialup and Win98 I would have 98% free resources at startup regularly. In your case, just turn off AVG and ZA,then see what your resource use is. There's no harm in doing this as long as you're not connected to the 'net. If this doesn't get you close to 98%, do a Ctrl-Alt-Del to see waht else is running.
