In a way the problem is resolved. Although I don't have 98% resources free
upon startup like you young'uns, I'm not having any unusual problem with the
system. I feel better now having seen the following two pages:

Startup Problems --- http://www2.whidbey.net/djdenham/Uncheck.htm
Startup Items List --- http://www.3feetunder.com/krick/startup/list.html

Seems 70% is considered a cut-off point, and since I have 84% without AVG
and ZoneAlarm running and 74% with them running, the figures look all right.
I know that at my age, I never wake up in the morning with a 98% batting
average so why should my 5 year old computer? I wonder what one year in
computer life equals to in a man's life. Thank you all for your patience ---
Harold
