Using Distiller 5.0 and Acrobat 5.0 on the PC platform, I created a pdf (screen-optimized job option) of a 60 page Quark file that contains 88 eps files. These files were originally CAD drawings (vector line art) that were modified with FreeHand, then exported as Quark eps files. My primary goal with the pdf is for screen viewing, it will be posted on our website. The pdf is a whopping 4.5 Mb! What's more, it doesn't seem to matter what job option I pick (e-book, print optimized, variations of screen optimized), the subsequent pdf is still 4.5 Mb or right around that size. Anybody have any suggestions on how to make this pdf smaller? I tried making the 88 graphics tiff files, but the graphic quality went way down.
