Because of the problems in Acrobat 4, Adobe released version 4.05. To install the update you had to remove Acrobat 4, and the update was only available on disk. In other words, it was like a brand new program. Then they released 4.05 update 2 which could be installed over the 4.05 update 1. The 4.05 updater that you found on the Adobe website *cannot* be installed on top of Acrobat 4.0...it *must* be installed on top of the 4.05 update 1. Does this explanation make more sense?
