Alan,

Launch Distiller, then look at SETTINGS > SECURITY. Are any of the boxes
checked? They shouldn't be if you don't want security.

I believe the export PDF function in Pagemaker runs Distiller in the
background, so the only way a PDF can have security, is if Distiller tells
it to through the security settings.

Let me know if this takes care of your problem.

When you export to PDF, the options page comes up and the defaults are
different than PM 6.5 click on the tab security set your security and save
it as a style. Then next time that what it will come up with.
