Try taking the screenout your picture files. Imagesetters don't need screens in files. The rip station will put whatever screen is needed in the picture no matter what you do. One of your printers can take the files. Maybe it's the printers fault. Many printers are still working with Postscript level 2 rips and not with Postscript 3. The old rips have problems with the higher level PDFs (1.4) especilly when gradients are involved.
