All the "modern" Pentaxes come with a plastic eyepiece cover that you are always
supposed to have with you and never ever lose. (RIGHT!) The byways and backwaters are
littered with them, I imagine. But they do the trick. They would fit (loosely) on the
screw mount cameras as well as long as they are pretty much upright.
Methinks I should drill a tiny hole in my couple of remaining ones, and poke a soft
unbreakable bright nylon sewing thread thru to attach one to each of my tripods. Along
with a little leatherette pocket to store it and protect. And paint the outside of it
International Orange. Saves all those trips through the washing machine in my pants or
vest pockets.
But of course, Bill's idea is the best, least expensive, most easily replaceable.
Tape. The thumb thing would be hard to pull off except on very short exposures
because of camera movement.
