The Pheonix/Vivitar 100mm F3.5 Macro lens costs about $120 new.  It goes
down to 1:2 by itself and includes an adaptor to go down to 1:1.  I have
this and the optics are pretty good, but the build quality is nothing to
brag about.  I think this is about your cheapest option.
