These statements are strange. Are you sure?
The press releases clearly state that outer body is magnesium; in fact they make issue
of it. My Pentax rep told me the same thing yesterday. I have no doubt that the
internal chassis is magnesium as well - it makes sense.
Also, the size is supposed to be closer to the ther MZ-series cameras than the Z-1p.
