Since I bought a couple of ME Supers just 6 months or so back, I
guess I will give my opinion here. If you want light and
compact, important to me, go with the ME Super. If you don't
trust battery dependent cameras go with the K-1000 (an aside:
the K-1000, from day one to the end, were lost leaders. They
were built as cheaply as possible. I can never find a reason
for the feverent affection some have for them, but then some
people swear by Dianas.)

However, if you want a winder on your camera a new ZX-M (MZ-M)
is actually cheaper than the ME Super, and at least locally a
new ZX-M is cheaper than a decent K-1000. As to the age,
replacing a ME Super is probably cheaper than having one
repaired, in fact, at $100-$150 you can almost consider them
disposable.
