I think the MZ-S has a much quieter shutter, and produces much less
vibration, than the PZ-1p. The PZ-1p may have a marginally quieter motor,
however. Overall, I think the MZ-S is much less obtrusive from a noise
standpoint. P�l reports that the difference in vibration from the mirror is
dramatic; I recall he said he could shoot one or two shutter speeds slower
with his 600/4.0 when using the MZ-S.

That said, there's a pretty dramatic price difference between the two
cameras. I still think the PZ-1p is the best bang-for-the-buck deal in
photography.
