I would think that one would be just as likely to throw away bad slides. Seems like a theoretical argument that really has little bearing. There are probably just as many damaged or destroyed negatives and slides as deleted DSLR images. IOW, capture methodology has little to do with organizational methodology. People who throw away stuff will throw both away, people who keep and file everything will keep and file both.
Bruce< on digital, i keep all because i want to keep numbering straight and never wonder what happened to a missing number. for slides, i keep anything that has a remotely correctly exposed image. if nothing else, they are record shots of places i may want to go back to when the weather/lighting is different/better.
