I'll take that challenge. I have printed two of the tiff files from the
Kodak site. I have several prints that were made from 6x7 negatives (Mamiya
Universal Press w 100mm/2,8 lens) develop & print 8x10 by a pro-lab about
1995. Just a moment.

OK, back, here is what I found. The digital prints at first glance appear to
be sharper, but on closer examination there is just so much more detail in
the 6x7 shots. Also, the 6x7s blow the digital away in with their smoother
tonality. I do not think any photographer who is experienced with larger
formats is likely to miss the difference on a side by side comparison.

I would say that the digital appear sharper at first glance because the edge
transition is more dramatic (e.g. a light pixel next to a dark pixel with
nothing in between) where there is a much smoother transition on the 6x7s.

That is the best I can tell without having identical images to compare. I
picked a shot with a womans head about the same size as in the Kodak sample
to compare to. Hair detail tells the unvarnish truthed (Kodaks models have
so much makeup there is no real skin detail).

Unfortunately a scan of my prints on the net would lose so much quality that
you could tell nothing about them, so you will have to do your own
comparison if you don't trust mine.
