I'm sure Pentax, as just about any company, makes product decisions based on "market research", on what the average Joe out there buys. You see the Canon Rebel is the #1 selling camera. No doubt that's the type of camera that has the main market volume. The latest Pentax bodies and lenses, such as the ZX-7 equipped with the inexpensive 28-80 zoom, appear to me to be attempts to align with that. I don't know much about DVD players, so when I go to Fry's to buy one, how do I decide which one to buy? The features cards on the demo models, the prices and the brand names. What better do I know? I'm sure the DVD manufacterers have they eyes on people like me. I think this is how the Canon Rebel is positioned, and is a great commercial success. Very unfortunate of course. Tonghang.
