OK.. so you don't want to admit it, I guess. Face it, Pentax as a major SLR maker is dying. I didn't say MF gear or point and shoots, I said SLRs. People who buy new SLRs buy Canon and Nikon, and I think eventually that'll narrow down to just Canon. I think they need to do something that sets them apart from the pack, to give people a reason to want to buy their cameras. I don't see it now. I walk into a K mart and I don't see a Pentax SLR in their lineup. I see a Canon, though, and usually a Nikon. I goto a camera store like Ritz and maybe I'll see one Pentax, but I'll see a couple of Canon and Nikon cameras. I go to a real camera store, but a small one, and I'll see the same again. A bigger camera store? Maybe a tiny shelf of Pentax, but not like the displays of Canon and Nikon. Pentax's days of a major SLR player are dead. Or may as well be. Accept and embrace life as a bit player, and give us a reason to buy new Pentax SLRs instead of endless CLAs on the LX. -- http://www.infotainment.org <-> more fun than a poke in your eye. http://www.eighteenpercent.com <-> photography and portfolio.
