OK.. so you don't want to admit it, I guess.

Face it, Pentax as a major SLR maker is dying. I didn't say MF gear or
point and shoots, I said SLRs. People who buy new SLRs buy Canon and
Nikon, and I think eventually that'll narrow down to just Canon.

I think they need to do something that sets them apart from the pack, to
give people a reason to want to buy their cameras. I don't see it now. I
walk into a K mart and I don't see a Pentax SLR in their lineup. I see a
Canon, though, and usually a Nikon. I goto a camera store like Ritz and
maybe I'll see one Pentax, but I'll see a couple of Canon and Nikon
cameras. I go to a real camera store, but a small one, and I'll see the
same again. A bigger camera store? Maybe a tiny shelf of Pentax, but not
like the displays of Canon and Nikon.

Pentax's days of a major SLR player are dead. Or may as well be. Accept
and embrace life as a bit player, and give us a reason to buy new Pentax
SLRs instead of endless CLAs on the LX.
