I am an ADVANCED collector/hobbiest and user of both screwmount and K mount Pentax equipment. By the word ADVANCED collector I mean that when I come across very undervalued equipment for sale I already have, I buy it again for tradebait or to resell at a modest profit to help buy stuff I dont have.
A non-ADVANCED collector/hobbiest passes up on great deals on stuff just because "he already has ONE". Big mistake. The more stuff you can buy low & trade/resell, the more your PRIMARY collection grows for less funds outlaid. That's how advanced collectors operate in most fields of collecting, not just cameras. I also collect LPs and slotcars. All of my veteran collecting friends in those hobbies do the same thing. Why not put your knowledge of the fields/values to work for you??? Seems silly ( or Lazy ) not to.....
