Hi, Nick, I didn't say that the EU doesn't enforce it's laws, did I?
In the context of a discussion of whether the EU or the US has tougher environmental laws, I merely attempted to make the point that tough laws without equally tough enforcement mean nothing. And, I used the example of my Canadian Province, and Mexico as places that have comprehensive laws, but where enforcement is wanting (Mexico moreso, AFAIK). I have no idea whether the EU enforces it's laws - maybe it does, and if so, that's great! But, laws are, after all, just words written on a piece of paper... And, if all the auto assembly plants in Mexico shut down tomorrow, the prices of cars would remain the same: the price they fetch is what the market will pay.
