To see if the lens will be a problem, position it so that the red mounting guide mark is straight up, at the 12 o'clock position. The offending pin will be between the 6 and 7 o'clock position.
I bought a Ricoh 50mm f1.7 on liquidation from a local store. It was a simple matter to unscrew the back plate and remove the pin.
Other than the program mode Ricohs, the only lens I know of that cannot be used on newer bodies is the Vivitar S1 70-200 f3.5, which has an extra long flange near the lever that connects to the lens aperture. That flange hits the power zoom contacts in newer bodies.
The are probably other incompatible lenses out there, though.

Does anyone know for sure which K-mount lenses cannot be used on the MZ-series bodies? I've had a Ricoh AR lens (I think) lock onto the mount permanently of one MZ body, but are there other lenses that do the same thing? I'm asking because I have a customer with a Ricoh body that can use the "A" Ricoh lenses, and she has a Vivitar zoom lens for it that she was hoping to use on an MZ body. Did Vivitar, or any other company, make lenses for Ricohs that cannot be used on an MZ body, or was it just Ricoh who made them?
Thanks,
chris
