Well, I don't think it is middle level but entry level. Entry level can be defined in 
several ways: it doesn't necesarily mean the cheapest body on offer. The J lenses are 
obviously entry level and there might of course be a few more of them. After all, the 
lenses are in line with what the competition offers.
As to possible mount limitation of the *Ist and the obvious limitations of the FAJ 
lenses, I don't think it matters as no owners of K and M lenses are in the market for 
FAJ lenses anyway and very few of those with large collection of 20+ years old lenses 
are in the market for entry level cameras. Even if the *Ist turns out compromized in 
some respect it will still be better in terms of compatibility than any of the 
competition as no other comparable entry level camera offer full compatibility from 
the lenses the maker have been manuacturing the last 20 years.
