I can't believe it and I am very surprised - I just made today
many tests with bracketing and manual exposure correction with my Pentax MZ-5N, Takumar SMC 300/4 lens and m42/K adaptor (original Pentax adaptor, made in Japan). The tests show me clearily that I MUST manually and every time correct exposure by exactly minus 1EV to achieve proper pictures!
I've had no such problems with my MZ-5, nor with the MZ-5n that I owns now. When I bought the FA 28-105 f/3.2-4.5 AL (IF) in summer 2001, I tested it with Agfa CTPrecisa 100 and the camera on auto exposure - just for the fun of it. It was a sunny day in Stockholm, with blue sky. I photographed flowers, buildings, water, people, streets, signs... I bracketed one of the shots.
I got 34 perfectly exposed slides. 2 were not good, but those were bracketed exposures (useless function :-) ).
If the MZ-5n reads the film type from the film canister, then it should be able to switch between a bias towards slides (positive) or print (negative) film.
Best wishes, Roland
