   The 5N does *not* read the exposure latitude from the cannister, to
   make distinction between negative and slide. It only has DX contacts
   to read the ISO sensitivity part.
   
   I assume your townscapes were uniformly lit for multisegment to
   expose correctly. Have you ever tried backlights or images with
   shadows? Then will burn out the highlights.
