I've recently bought a SMC A 24-50/4 lens that's optically identical to the
F autofocus version. ...from what I've noticed just by shooting with it - don't be surprised 'cause the lens flares like hell. It was the first time I had problems with it on any SMC lens.

The 24-50 has the same optical formula as the 24-50 A lens, which I believe was an improvement over the 24-50 M lens that didn't get great performance reviews.

The M had such a problem with flare that it could pic color from objects "around" the scene that are outside the frame WITH THE SUN IN THE BACK. I took white snow with both this lens at 28mm and a SMCT 28mm, surrounded by green coniferous, and the snow had a green tint with the M24-50 but was perfectly white with the 28mm lens.
