My first SLR was an H1a bought in 1964 to move up from my venerable Argus C-3. Matched with my GE PR-1 light meter, it served well for almost 15 years until the shutter died. I still have it with the idea of someday having it repaired so I can use it again
Does having bought this camera new make me an anachronism too? <g> Paul -------Original Message------- From: James Moniz <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: 07/08/03 02:56 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Today's Word Is "Anachronism"! :) > > Ironic that in the midst of all the discussion of the *ist and its upcoming digital sibling, I chime in with this... Largely for fun, I just picked up a Honeywell Pentax H1a with a 55mm f2 Takumar from ebay. This will be my first screw mount. While I'm waiting for it to arrive, I wanted to know if any of you have used this ancient, beautiful-looking hunk of metal and glass, and what you like/don't like about it. (I already know it doesn't have a built-in light meter, but I have a hand-held one, so that's not an issue.) I look forward to hearing from H1a owners!
