Are you sure of that?

Two (2) millimeters looks right, sounds right, the mirror sets level when
up, it compresses to about 2/3s. I would think that you would not get a good
seal against the1mm (which you said was correct in another post) light seals
if the bumper was three (3) millimeters. What is your source for that
information? Mine is as I said above based on observation of the current
camera, and (maybe faulty) memory of the new ones I owned back in the 80's.

The MX does not depend 100% on the bumper as the linkage is designed to slow
the mirror before it hits (though it still hits hard if there is no bumper).
AFAIK, the ME Super mirror is stopped entirely by the foam. However, if you
have more accurate information source than I do, please share it.
