I did this when I was looking at my last-but-one upgrade. There is now a Pentium II 266 MHz system with 4GB of hard drive doing nothing but serving a printer and scanner, and being used for compressed backups of data, including emails and address books. Oh, and it runs an old but very stable fax system too!
