How about the build quality? I really didn't liked the *ist. It feels like it would break in my hands; even my MZ-6 is much better. And I think MZ-S have a much better viewfinder, this is more important for me than 11-points AF. That's what I don't like about my MZ-6... I almost can't use MF on that camera, I thought because of my eyes; but with *istD (I tried it in a store) everything was fine.
