Hi John ... My purpose for showing this photograph here and at this time is to work through some issues about the purpose of my photography as well as some personal issues. However, when the photograph presented itself to me, those thoughts did not cross my mind. I saw something in the scene that made a social comment - a comment about fast food, sugar-laden drinks (no accident that the coke mug is featured where it is), and the problems associated with all that. I'd just recently come off reading "Fast Food nation" and Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle."
After viewing the photograph I realized that I was also confronting some of my own demons and looking square in the eyes of some of my problems. It's always amazed me what can be revealed on a piece of film. shel > What's your purpose for showing this photograph?
