        Hmmmmm, with the small sensors and shorter lenses used
        in current (relatively affordable) digital systems isn't
        shallow DOF one of the sacrifices one must endure?

        I suppose uou could take these sort of shots w/ a tele
        at some extreme distance, but don't the techniques, lenses
        and results we are used to now leave a bit to be desired?

          a friend interested in a "no-brainer" digi P&S. It seems
          an interesting device for the intended purpose, but my
          ancient computer has no USB ports! - so I'm somewhat limited
          I'll try out the card reader print kiosk at the local
          MallWart, as that will probably be how my friend will be
          using it anyway.
