My FA*200/2.8 & FA31/1.8 were purchased from USA & HK respectively. Both 
were replaced and covered by Pentax Canada with the 1 year international 
warranty. Unlike most other countries, Pentax Canada is a direct subsidiary 
of Pentax Japan so they are more willing to honour the warranty and service.

I think that if you have your original bill, you can apply for an 
international 1 year warranty.  Anybody has had such an experience?
