Were you having different contrast problems with the 2? IIRC the Ilford leans towards contrasty and the Kodak flat. The masking on the Kodak can be especially problematic. You may not be able to get much over a 2 contrast with the Kodak. If you have access to some graded paper try comparing that to the Multi grade at various contrast settings.
