Sticking the boat dead centre really works here, as one's eye is drawn away from it, up and to the right, by that line of boats, and the open water.
And, even though the triangle of the boat's superstructure is right in the middle, the horizon is relatively low, offsetting that.

Shot with an ME Super and FA 43 f1.8 on Tri-X, developed in Microdol-X 1:3. The faux-sepia tone is inspired by some 19th century Dutch seascapes (photos) I saw recently at the Chicago Institute of Art.
