I've had a couple of similar cases, both involving buyers from the US who refuse to use PayPal or sterling. The first just sent a $ cheque and as it was a relatively small amount I just sent the item anyway. I don't think the cheque's even cleared yet some months later.
The second is ongoing and he sent an International Money Order but claimed he could only get a $ one. My bank says there could be a relatively high charge (�4 on a �16 transaction), but again it hasn't cleared yet. I haven't sent the item as I was selling it for a friend in this case. I really don't know why people can't read or follow instructions. It's not difficult to use PayPal and I even swallow their high charges to remove the hassle. Nick.
